Educational Philosophy
From the beginning of time, man has been driven to solve his problems, to simplify his life, and to tackle obstacles in the way of his needs. This ordeal is what makes great “tv drama”; likewise, it makes one great classroom experience. Thus, I encourage a progressive classroom because it supports our human nature to try and fix our daily challenges and it satisfies students’ curiosity about the relevance of their learning.
Welcome!
My experience in teaching and working with students stems over fifteen years. I absolutely love to help students and that is because I love to learn. Ironically, I was not exactly your A student, or sat in honors classes. As a matter of fact, I struggled in some classes, but I then realized knowing how to learn is a skill. Of course I give credit to some of my teachers for those skills. Once I knew how to learn and study, learning became fun. Majoring in Theater and performing Arts, I mastered my college courses with A's and a few B's and little did I find myself struggling.
I always say teaching chose me, I did not choose teaching. A noticeable pattern of working with students seem to emerge. It was a seamless transition when I earned my teaching credentials at Broward College located in my home town south Florida. By the time I received my teaching degree, I had already worked with all age groups from kindergarten to 12th grade. I now specialize in two of my favorite subjects, Social Studies and Drama.
